New Restaurants in Memphis

New restaurants in Memphis open faster than the roundups can rot — and rot they do, listing places as 'new' that closed last winter. So this page works differently: every opening below is confirmed at the restaurant's own site or social, dated, and refreshed as the scene moves. If we say it's open, it's open.

The metro-wide view is the point — Germantown and Collierville are having a moment, and the Mississippi side counts too. (Where to drink before dinner: our happy hour guide. The openings Memphis is actually talking about.

• Josephine Estelle + Rosie's TavernGermantown

  Opened late May. The Ticer & Hudman homecoming — the James Beard-nominated chefs behind Andrew Michael and Hog & Hominy brought their Italian-Southern flagship home from New Orleans, with Rosie's Tavern, a cocktail-and-small-bites bar, upstairs. Lunch Tue–Fri, dinner nightly except Monday; book on Resy.

• BrizaCrosstown

  Opened November. Woodfired 'land, sushi, sea' from husband-and-wife team Moisés and Maggie Hernandez — hand-cut steaks and inventive sushi under one roof in the Concourse. Resy reservations.

• The Second LineLaurelwood

  Reopened April. Kelly English's beloved Cajun-Creole spot left Overton Square and re-emerged next door to Restaurant Iris — same po'boys, gumbo, and pimento-cheese fries, new East Memphis address (4550 Poplar).

• Maeve's TavernCollierville

  Opened July 2. A proper Irish pub on Collierville's Main Street — the interior was literally shipped from Ireland — from the Brazen Restaurant Group. Full menu daily, Sunday brunch from 10am.

• Magnolia Bend GrilleNesbit, MS

  Opened November. Chef Michael Patrick's Southern fine-dining room at Bonne Terre — filet, shrimp and grits, Sunday lunch — carrying the flag for the DeSoto County side. Wed–Sun.

• Bain Barbecue — GermantownGermantown

  Opened May 19. The Cooper-Young Texas-style smokehouse doubled itself — brisket smoked daily, counter service, 60 seats on Germantown Road.

• The DameDowntown

  Opened this summer. A moody cocktail den beneath the restored Hotel Pontotoc — caviar and chips, whiskey trail mix, serious drinks. Open till midnight Fri–Sat.

• Cocozza EastEast Memphis

  Opened in July. The Harbor Town red-sauce favorite lands its second location on Yates Road — nightly from 4pm, with the same aperitivo hour DNA (details in our happy hour guide).

• Social DesiiiCollierville

  Opened late 2025. Biryanis, chaats, Indo-Chinese, and a full bar on Winchester — the suburbs' most ambitious Indian opening in years. Closed Mondays.

• Habana Club Bar and GrillShelby Crossing

  Opened this year. Classic Cuban — from a Havana-born owner — with late-night weekend hours (till 3am Fri–Sat) on Macon Road.

• J Woods Sports BarHarbor Town

  Now open in the old Harbor Town Pharmacy space on Mud Island — wall-to-wall screens, a full bar, and a weekend brunch that starts at 9am Saturday and Sunday. Open till midnight Friday and Saturday, 11pm the rest of the week, and it opens at 2pm Tuesday and Wednesday. The neighborhood finally has its game-day room.

• Dog & BoneOverton Square

  The British pub on Madison is open — it was still a rumor with no date when we first listed it, and the doors are now open at 2116 Madison. They haven't published hours anywhere yet (their own site is still a placeholder), so check their socials before a special trip.

And poured one out for…

Honest ledger, both directions: Tsunami closed in February after 28 years — chef Ben Smith's Pacific Rim pioneer was a Cooper-Young institution — and downtown lost By the Brewery after five. Chef Flava's left its downtown spot in July, cooking on from Big Myrt's in Bartlett after a spring fire. The Second Line's old Overton Square room also went dark, but that one's a happy ending (see above).
