The Guide
Late-Night Food in Memphis: The Verified After-Hours Map

TL;DR
Late-night food in Memphis, every closing time verified August 2026: Dixie Queen's Airways and Getwell locations run 24 hours; Earnestine & Hazel's grills Soul Burgers until 3am Wednesday–Sunday; Bardog Tavern's kitchen serves until 2am nightly with the bar open until 3; Westy's delivers downtown until 2am, 365 days a year; and Gibson's Donuts — no longer 24/7 — now runs 5am to midnight. Twenty-seven spots sorted by when the food actually stops, with kitchen close and bar close listed separately, because a bar open until 3 does not mean the kitchen is.
It's 11:40 on a Tuesday night and you're hungry. This is the exact moment every hours listing on the internet fails you — closing times are the most perishable fact in dining, and the gap between "the bar's open til 3" and "the kitchen closed at midnight" is the difference between a Soul Burger and a locked door.
So this page works differently: 27 spots sorted by when the food actually stops, every closing time verified at the venue's own site in August 2026 — with the kitchen close and the bar close listed separately wherever the venue publishes both. Where a spot doesn't print its hours anywhere, we say that too, with the phone number. (Hungry earlier in the evening? Start with the best restaurants in Memphis.) — Josh

Open 24 hours
The genuinely round-the-clock club is small, local, and serves soft-serve at 4am.
- Dixie QueenAirways + Getwell
"Open Monday thru Sunday 24 Hours" — the 2391 Airways Blvd and 1341 Getwell Rd locations, straight from their own site. Burgers, honey-gold wings, sandwiches, and ice cream at any hour on the clock. Other Dixie Queens around town keep long hours too, but these two are the ones that put it in writing.
Food until 3am (or close to it)
The after-2am tier — where Memphis actually eats when the show lets out.
- Earnestine & Hazel'sSouth Main, 531 S Main St
The most famous late-night bite in Memphis: the Soul Burger, grilled in a haunted former brothel. Wednesday–Sunday, 5pm–3am — and closed Monday and Tuesday, which surprises people planning an early-week pilgrimage. The grill is the whole food program; that's the point.
- Blues City CafeBeale Street, 138 Beale St
Ribs, catfish, and tamales at the corner of Beale and Second — Sunday–Thursday until 1am, Friday–Saturday until 3am, with the kitchen framed as open through those hours on their own site. The rare Beale room where the food is the draw, not the souvenir cup.
- Momma's855 Kentucky St
The self-described only trucker-themed bar in America — open until 1am Sunday–Thursday and 3am Friday–Saturday, with burgers, the Firebird chicken sandwich, and lasagna-tier daily specials. Strictly 21+ at all times, their words. Weekday breakfast from 7am means it's also open more hours than almost anywhere in town.
- Louis Connelly's BarMidtown, 322 S Cleveland St
Open until 3am every night — 4pm weekdays, 11am weekends — with house-made chicken tenders in Buffalo, Hot Honey Gold, or Honey Bourbon, plus pizzas, burgers, and chipotle-queso nachos. Their site doesn't print a kitchen cutoff, so if it's past 2, call before counting on the tenders.
Food until 2am
The 2am tier is the sweet spot: real kitchens, printed hours, no guesswork.
- Bardog TavernDowntown, 73 Monroe Ave
The best-documented late kitchen in Memphis: "Kitchen closes 2:00 AM (dine-in)" in their own words, bar until 3am nightly. Sliders and a full menu until 2, seven nights — and the same room opens for breakfast at 7:30am on weekdays, which makes Bardog the closest thing downtown has to an always-on diner.
- Westy'sPinch District, 346 N Main St
Open 10:30am–2am, 365 days a year — and it delivers downtown until 2am, on its own drivers, not an app cutoff. Wild rice dishes, burgers, and the famous hot fudge pie. If you're downtown and can't leave the couch, this is the answer.
- Smoky City BBQNorth Memphis, 1023 Jackson Ave
Ribs, brisket, and smoked wings until 2am Monday–Saturday — the latest-running barbecue in the city by a wide margin. Sunday hours aren't posted on their site, so call 901-425-3115 before a Sunday-night run.
- Straight Drop SeafoodNorth Memphis, 615 Chelsea Ave
Late-night seafood — noon–midnight Monday–Thursday, noon–2am Friday–Saturday, closed Sunday, per their own site. Snow crab and wings at 1:30am is a lane exactly one Memphis kitchen occupies.
- Madison TavernOverton Square, 2126 Madison Ave
Open 11am–2am every single day, with a dedicated Late Nite menu — birria quesadillas, street tacos, tamales, a smash burger, Philly egg rolls. No printed food cutoff, but a bar that builds a separate late menu is a bar that plans to serve it.

Food until 1am (kitchen-verified)
This tier is where the kitchen-vs-bar distinction earns its keep — several of these bars pour well past the last plate.
- CameoMidtown, 1835 Union Ave, Suite 103
The cleanest printed split in Midtown: bar 4pm–2am daily, kitchen until midnight Sunday–Thursday and 1am Friday–Saturday. Cocktail-bar burgers and light bites, 21+ always ("Forever & Always," per the site).
- Silly GooseDowntown, 100 Peabody Place, Suite 190
Wood-fired pizza downtown — the oven runs until midnight most nights and 1am Friday–Saturday, while the bar goes to 2 and 3am. Arrive at 1:30 on a Saturday and you'll drink well but eat nothing; the printed kitchen hours are the ones that matter.
- Huey'sMidtown, Poplar, Cordova + more
The burger institution publishes a full kitchen/bar split for every location — Midtown's kitchen runs to midnight (12:30am Fri–Sat), Poplar and Cordova to 1am on weekends, with the bar pouring about 30 minutes past the kitchen everywhere. Downtown closes a full hour earlier than Midtown — check your location's page before rolling up at 12:45.
- Slider Inn (Midtown)Midtown, 2117 Peabody Ave
Sliders and Memphis' first lobster roll — kitchen until 11:30pm Sunday–Thursday and 12:30am Friday–Saturday at the Peabody Ave original. The Downtown location (363 Mulberry) closes earlier, with the kitchen stopping at 10pm on weeknights — Midtown is the late one.
- Young Avenue DeliCooper-Young, 2119 Young Ave
Open 11am–1am, seven days a week — cheese sticks, pimento cheese fries, and a beer list that's anchored Cooper-Young for decades. No printed kitchen cutoff, so aim to order before the final hour.
- Brookhaven Pub & GrillEast Memphis, 695 W Brookhaven Cir
East Memphis' late room: open daily 11am–1am, and 21+ after 9pm — both straight from their own site. Pub food, happy hour 4–7, live music Thursday–Saturday.
- RP TracksUniversity District, 3547 Walker Ave
The Tigers' neighborhood standby, famous for BBQ tofu nachos — open until 1am Thursday–Saturday by both hour blocks on their own site. (Their site prints two different early-week schedules, so call 901-327-1471 before a Monday-night run.)
- Memphis Jamaican KitchenMidtown, 1354 Madison Ave
Jerk chicken until 1am Thursday–Saturday at the Madison Ave location, per its own location page — the rest of the week ends at 9pm, and the Vance Ave food truck isn't a late-night play at all. The only late-night Jamaican in town, three nights a week.
Food until midnight
The stroke-of-midnight tier — later than most of the city, still worth planning around.
- Gibson's DonutsEast Memphis, 760 Mt Moriah Rd
The 24/7 era is over: Gibson's now runs 5am–midnight, straight from their own account — a fact plenty of the internet hasn't caught up with. The maple bacon and hot glazed at 11:45pm remain one of the city's great rituals; just don't plan a 2am run anymore.
- Uncle Lou's Fried ChickenWhitehaven, 1725 Winchester Rd
The honey-dipped "Sweet Spicy Love" wings run through the drive-thru until midnight Monday–Saturday — the dining room closes at 7:30–8:30pm, so after that it's car-window soul food only. Sunday drive-thru ends at 10pm.
- Flames Mediterranean & GrillHighland Strip, 546 S Highland St
Shawarma, kabobs, and gyros until midnight Thursday–Saturday (11pm Monday–Wednesday, 10pm Sunday) — the late Mediterranean option on the Strip, a short walk from campus.
- Celtic CrossingCooper-Young, 903 S Cooper St
The Irish pub runs until midnight Friday–Saturday (10pm on school nights, 10:30am Sunday open for the football crowd). Boxty, curry chips, and a proper pour before the clock strikes.
- Lafayette's Music RoomOverton Square, 2119 Madison Ave
Friday 5pm–midnight, Saturday 4pm–midnight — and closed Monday–Wednesday, per its own printed hours. A live-music supper room, not a 2am hang; go for the show and eat before the set ends.
No printed close — call first
Three institutions that are very much alive and simply don't publish a closing time. We won't invent one; here's how to check.
- Dyer's BurgersBeale Street, 205 Beale St
Deep-fried burgers in the same century-old grease since 1912 — and their own site prints exactly "11:00am – till." No closing time, any day. On a busy Beale weekend "till" runs late; on a quiet Tuesday it doesn't. Call 901-527-3937 if the burger is the whole trip.
- Alex's TavernVollintine-Evergreen, 1445 Jackson Ave
Memphis' oldest family-run tavern — pouring since 1953 — has never had a website, and that's the charm. The Greek Burger and Greek-seasoned drummies are the stuff of late-night legend, and the room famously runs deep into the night. Call 901-278-9086 before a special trip.
- The CoveBroad Avenue, 2559 Broad Ave
The nautical-kitsch bar posts its hours as "every day from 4 p.m. – till" — an open time and a shrug, on its own Instagram (the reliable place to check; skip the search results). 21+ only, karaoke Wednesdays, oysters while they last.
What changed — verified August 2026
Late-night hours move faster than any other fact in Memphis dining, and 2026 has moved several: Gibson's Donuts ended its famous 24/7 schedule and now closes at midnight. Newby's on the Highland Strip closed in November 2025 and reopened in June 2026 under new ownership — it hasn't published hours yet, so it's off this page until it does. The Half Shell on Mendenhall changed hands and its printed schedules currently disagree with each other — call 901-682-3966 before a late run (and note its Southwind location has closed). Slider Inn's late hours have shifted too — Midtown's kitchen now stops at 12:30am on weekends. Every time the map moves, this page moves with it.
The honest answers
What food is open 24 hours in Memphis?
Two local spots publish genuine 24-hour schedules: Dixie Queen at 2391 Airways Blvd and 1341 Getwell Rd, both confirmed on the company's own site in August 2026. Beyond those it's national chains — Waffle House and the 24-hour IHOP on Riverdale. A few taco spots around town keep famously long hours by reputation, but none publish them anywhere checkable, so we don't print them.
Where can I eat after 2am in Memphis?
The verified after-2am options: Earnestine & Hazel's Soul Burgers until 3am Wednesday–Sunday, Blues City Cafe until 3am Friday–Saturday, Momma's until 3am Friday–Saturday, Louis Connelly's open until 3am nightly, and Dixie Queen's Airways and Getwell locations around the clock. Bardog's kitchen runs until exactly 2am, so it's the last call of the 2am tier.
What's open late on a Monday or Tuesday night?
The early week is the real test — Earnestine & Hazel's is closed Monday–Tuesday and Lafayette's is dark Monday–Wednesday. Your verified Monday-night options: Bardog Tavern (kitchen until 2am), Madison Tavern (2am), Westy's (2am, with delivery), Smoky City BBQ (2am), Young Avenue Deli and Brookhaven Pub (1am), Cameo (kitchen until midnight), and Dixie Queen (24 hours).
Why list the kitchen close separately from the bar close?
Because arriving before close doesn't mean getting fed. Silly Goose's bar pours until 3am on weekends but the pizza oven stops at 1am; Bardog's bar runs to 3am while the kitchen stops at 2; Huey's bars pour about 30 minutes past every kitchen. Where a venue publishes the split, we print both times; where it doesn't, we say so instead of guessing.
