Brunch in Memphis

Memphis brunch information goes stale fast: restaurants move, hours shift, and some of the best rooms in town only serve on Sundays — or everything *but* Sundays. The pancakes can't help you if the door's locked, so the facts that matter most are the boring ones: which days, what hours, and how to get a table.

So this is the list built on those load-bearing facts: exact brunch days and hours, verified at every restaurant's own site — July 2026, with the whole downtown tier re-verified and expanded in August 2026 — plus how to actually get a table (Resy, OpenTable, or get-in-line). Whole metro included — Germantown, Arlington, even Southaven — because brunch doesn't stop at the city line. Downtown & South Main

• Sunrise MemphisDowntown + East Memphis

  Daily 7am–2pm at both locations — the all-week brunch anchor. The King Biscuit ($13) is the order; the Memphis Sunrise (tequila + OJ, $8) says good morning. Counter service, walk in.

• The Arcade RestaurantSouth Main

  Memphis's most famous diner — pouring coffee since 1919 — daily 7am–3pm, breakfast all day. Sweet potato pancakes and the Eggs Redneck. Resy or walk in.

• Automatic Slim'sDowntown, 83 S 2nd

  Sat–Sun 9am–3pm and the rowdiest table downtown: Oreo Waffle ($12), BBQ Brisket Benedict ($14), $3 mimosas and bloody marys, and a 100-oz mimosa tower for the table ($36).

• The Majestic GrilleMain Street

  White-tablecloth brunch in a 1913 movie house, Sat–Sun 11am–2:30pm (ends at 2 on Orpheum Broadway days — check your matinee). Brioche French toast $17; book on Resy.

• SageDowntown, 94 S Main

  Fusion-soul brunch, Sat 11am–3pm, Sun 11am–4pm. Their own FAQ says it plainly: no brunch reservations, first come first served — go early or embrace the wait.

• Capriccio Grill at The PeabodyDowntown

  Sunday buffet 11:30am–3pm with omelet and carving stations — and the duck march at 11 is a built-in preshow. Reserve on OpenTable.

• Alcenia'sDowntown, 317 N Main

  Legendary soul food and the sweet potato cobbler — but know the hours: Sat 9am–3pm is the only weekend service; closed Sundays — so make it a Saturday plan. Walk in.

• Memphis ToastJackson Ave, north of downtown

  Themed Memphis rooms and French toast as the house specialty — M–F 7am–2pm, Sat 8am–2pm, Sun 9am–3pm, so it works for weekday brunch too.

Downtown Memphis brunches deeper than the classics — the bar tier, the hotel rooms, and the river view, all re-verified August 2026.

  The only daily brunch downtown — every day, 7am–3pm — inside the Canopy hotel on Union. The move when it's Tuesday and somebody says brunch. (Hours can shift on event days.)

• Bardog TavernDowntown, 73 Monroe Ave

  'Downtown's best Saturday and Sunday brunch' by its own confident billing — the neighborhood tavern's Sat–Sun 11am–3pm service, best taken at the bar.

• Hustle & DoughSouth Main, 477 S Main St

  The bakery-café answer: all-day breakfast daily 7am–4pm — avocado toast, classic French toast, and a pastry case that decides for you. Counter service, walk in.

• Slider Inn DowntownSouth Main, 363 Mulberry St

  Brunch sliders and the famous Jameson slushies, Sat–Sun 11am–3pm, with a patio built for a slow Saturday.

• South of BealeSouth Main, 345 S Main St

  The gastropub's weekend brunch menu is posted on its own site (times aren't — doors open at 11 daily, so aim for the same window). Around twenty dishes are marked gluten-free.

• Biscuits & JamsDowntown, 24 N B.B. King Blvd

  The Hotel Indigo biscuit house: Wed–Fri 8am–2pm, Sat–Sun 8am–3pm — shrimp and grits and a breakfast burger with a hotel-lobby calm.

• Sugar GritsPeabody Place, 150 Peabody Pl

  Southern breakfast and brunch — the Biscuit Board ($13.99) is the signature — but they publish no hours anywhere, so check their socials before walking over. We'd rather tell you that than guess.

• Paulette'sHarbor Town, 50 Harbor Town Sq

  The popovers with strawberry butter — a Memphis brunch heirloom, now at the River Inn in Harbor Town. Sat–Sun 10am–2pm, five minutes over the bridge from downtown.

• Mahogany River TerraceMud Island, 280 Island Dr

  The riverfront splurge: upscale Southern-Creole brunch Sat–Sun 11am–3pm with a Mississippi River view. Reservations run a strict 15-minute grace, so be on time. (More on the island on our Mud Island guide.)

• Eight & SandSouth Main, 545 S Main St

  Central Station's vinyl-spinning bar does breakfast daily 7–11am — not a linger-till-2 brunch, but the right platform for a South Main morning. (It replaced Bishop, which closed in 2024.)

Midtown, Cooper-Young & Crosstown

• The Beauty ShopCooper-Young

  Brunch inside Priscilla Presley's old beauty parlor — dryer chairs included. Sat 11am–2pm, Sun 10am–3pm: sesame pecan chicken & waffle ($18.95), challah French toast ($13), the Bad Boy bloody mary ($11). OpenTable.

• Café EclecticMidtown + Harbor Town

  Scratch bakery, soda fountain, breakfast all day — M–Sat from 7am, Sun from 9am (until 3). Eggs Benedict $14, Pookie's Pancakes $9. Books through their own site or walk in.

• Complicated PilgrimMidtown, 21 S Cooper

  Breakfast daily from 6:30am, proper brunch Sat–Sun 11am–2pm. Reserve through their site.

• Global CaféCrosstown Concourse

  Sunday-only, 11am–3pm: a Mexican brunch — breakfast burritos, huevos a la mexicana — from the food hall where immigrant chefs run the kitchens. Walk in.

• Loflin YardSouth End

  The backyard-bar brunch: weekends, with mimosa buckets, a bloody mary bar, and Bluegrass Brunch on Sundays in season — exact hours move with the calendar, so check their site on the way. Bring the dog.

East Memphis & University District

• Brother Juniper'sUniversity District

  The open-face omelet institution by the U of M. Tue–Fri 6:30am–1pm, Sat 7am–12:30pm, Sun 8am–1pm, closed Mondays. The San Diegan is the one. Expect a wait; it's earned.

• Staks KitchenEast Memphis + 3 more

  The pancake bar — build your own, or start with pancake beignets and candied bacon. Opens 7am daily; four locations mean the wait is beatable (see the suburbs below).

• Another Broken Egg CafePark Ave + S. Highland

  Daily 7am–2pm — the dependable seven-days-a-week benedicts-and-beignets play, with a waitlist app when the line forms.

• Bog & BarleyEast Memphis

  Sunday-only, 11am–3pm: the B&B Full Irish ($20), Irish Benedict ($17), bananas foster French toast ($14). The one brunch in town with proper rashers. OpenTable.

• Owen Brennan'sRegalia, East Memphis

  Sunday Jazz Brunch, 9am–2:30pm final seating — a New Orleans buffet with live jazz. Two-hour table limit, so book your slot and settle in.

• Hog & HominyBrookhaven Circle

  The Beard-boys' Italian-Southern spot does brunch Sat–Sun 10:30am–2pm. Reserve through their site.

• Magnolia & MayMt Moriah

  Brunch Tuesday through Sunday — a weekly-changing menu, Saturday from 10, and a Sunday “brunch after dark” from 4pm for people whose mornings ran long. Resy.

• The Second LineNOW at 4550 Poplar

  Kelly English's New Orleans joint moved from Monroe to 4550 Poplar — update your map if you knew the old spot. “Brunchy Lunchy” — french loaf French toast, beignets — is served all day, daily from 10:30am, first come first served.

• The Liquor StoreNOW at 669 S Mendenhall

  The retro diner's Broad Ave original closed in 2025 — it lives on in East Memphis with breakfast all day, daily 7:30am–3pm.

• Elwood's ShackBerclair, Summer Ave

  The smokehouse-in-a-shack does breakfast from 7am Mon–Sat, Sun 8am–3pm — the breakfast tacos have a following for a reason. Walk in.

Germantown, Arlington & DeSoto County

Nobody else's brunch list leaves the city line. The metro brunches too.

  The special-occasion Sunday brunch out east — Sundays from 9am (seatings run to mid-afternoon; confirm your slot when you book on OpenTable).

• Staks Kitchen — Germantown, Arlington & SouthavenThe metro three

  The pancake bar's other homes: 7704 Poplar in Germantown, 5226 Airline Rd in Arlington, and Silo Square in Southaven, MS — all opening at 7am daily. DeSoto County gets pancake beignets too.

What changed recently

Brunch moves fast here, so the recent changes worth knowing: The Second Line left Monroe Ave for 4550 Poplar. The Liquor Store's Broad Avenue original closed in 2025; Mendenhall carries the torch. Downtown lost a few names other lists still print: Bishop closed in July 2024 (Eight & Sand now holds Central Station), Blind Bear closed in August 2024, and the Garden Brunch Cafe and Paramount on South Front are gone too. Alcenia's serves Saturdays only on weekends — no Sunday brunch. We checked every entry above at the restaurant's own site — July 2026, downtown re-verified August 2026; if something changes, this page changes.

The honest answers
