Breweries in Memphis

Memphis craft beer has grown up. What used to be a two-brewery town now has taprooms scattered from South Main to Cordova, each with its own personality — a glass wall onto the brewhouse here, a music-named lineup there, a patio next to a brand-new amphitheater over there.

This guide only lists breweries you can actually go sit down and drink at — an open taproom, verified at the brewery's own website in July 2026 — with the flagship beers, the neighborhood, and the hours pattern. (For cocktails, wine bars, and the rest of the drinking map, start with the best bars in Memphis.) (One important note up top: Memphis Made's taproom closed in 2026 after fifteen good years. You'll still find their cans around town, but there's no taproom to visit — so it's not on the list below, and you won't drive out for nothing.)

Downtown & South Main

• Wiseacre BrewingDowntown HQ (398 S B.B. King) + Broad Ave OG (2783 Broad)

  The award-winning heavyweight, with two taprooms: the big Downtown production house on B.B. King and the original “OG” on Broad Ave. Flagship Tiny Bomb pilsner is spiked with 50 pounds of local wildflower honey — their words. Little Bettie pizza at Downtown (a Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives regular — it made our best pizza list), Panuzzo King pizza on Broad.

• Ghost River BrewingSouth Main, 827 S Main

  “Memphis' first craft brewery,” by their own billing — 12 ales on tap, house seltzer, a full bar, and a real kitchen run by the former owner of New Wing Order. Closed Mondays; open late Tue–Sun (a weekend-only Beale Street outpost too).

• High Cotton BrewingEdge District, 598 Monroe

  A downtown mainstay in the Edge District near Sun Studio, pouring eleven year-round and seasonal beers led by River King IPA (also a Mexican lager, a Thai pale ale, an ESB). Open daily; brewery tours are on pause per their site.

Uptown, Crosstown & Binghampton

• Crosstown Brewing CompanyCrosstown, 1264 Concourse Ave

  Just outside Crosstown Concourse, with a glass wall that lets you watch the brewers work and roll-up doors for indoor-outdoor drinking. Flagship Traffic West Coast IPA (“citrus, pine, mango, and pineapple”) and Siren blonde. Kitchen's open, plus food trucks at events. Daily.

• Soul & Spirits BreweryUptown, 845 N Main

  Every beer named for Memphis and Southern music — Hoochie Coochie IPA, Midnight Hour “Mud Island Ale,” Smoke Stack smoked lager — from a founder with a Munich master-brewer diploma. Darts, shuffleboard, cornhole, giant chess, dog-friendly; the fall Oktoberfest times to Munich's. Closed Mon–Tue.

• Grind City BrewingUptown riverfront, 76 Waterworks

  A 2,400-sq-ft patio and two acres of green space on the Uptown riverfront — now right next to the new Grind City Amp amphitheater. Sixteen taps led by Poppy's Pils and The Godhopper hazy IPA; rotating food trucks and Las Delicias snacks. Closed Mon–Tue.

• Hampline Brewing CompanyBinghampton, 584 Tillman

  A small Binghampton brewery right on the Hampline bike path near Broad Ave — pours like Bar Von Broad and Cherry Bomb from a certified master brewer. The neighborhood ride-and-pint. Closed Mondays.

Worth the drive

• Meddlesome Brewing CompanyCordova, 7750 Trinity Rd

  The east-metro pick, with a busy weekly calendar — Tuesday bingo, Wednesday trivia, $4-pint Thursdays, and live music — pouring Memphis Style Lager, 201 Hoplar IPA, and Dad Jeans pilsner. Closed Mondays.

A couple of things to know

Memphis Made Brewing — a beloved Midtown name for fifteen years — filed for bankruptcy and closed its last taproom in March 2026. You'll still spot Cat Nap and GonerBrau cans around Shelby County, but there's no taproom to visit anymore. And Beale Street Brewing Co., Memphis's first Black-owned brewery (music-themed beers celebrating Memphis heroes), is worth knowing even though it doesn't run its own taproom yet — look for it on tap and on shelves around town.
