Things to Do in Southaven, MS

TL;DR
The best things to do in Southaven, MS center on Silo Square — the town's walkable dining-and-shops district — plus summer concerts at the BankPlus Amphitheater at Snowden Grove, arena shows at the Landers Center, 65+ stores at Tanger Outlets, and disc golf and trails at Central Park. It's the Memphis metro's Mississippi side, ten minutes from downtown. Every fact verified.
Southaven, MS gets sold short online — and it shouldn't, because it calls itself the 'Top of Mississippi' for a reason. It's the Memphis metro's front porch in DeSoto County, ten minutes from downtown, with a walkable town-square district, a real concert amphitheater, and an arena that lands national tours.

The anchors
Start with these five — they're why people from Memphis drive south.
- Silo SquareGetwell & Silo Square Dr
Southaven's answer to a historic town square, built new: a bell tower, a green, and 50+ businesses — Central BBQ, Firebirds, a wine bar, a live-music hall, boutiques, even golf simulators. It hosts festivals through the year (a crawfish-and-blues fest, an arts festival). The closest thing to a walkable downtown south of the state line.
- BankPlus Amphitheater at Snowden GroveSnowden Lane
A real outdoor shed with a national calendar — this summer's slate includes Luke Bryan (July 23) and Men at Work with Toad the Wet Sprocket (July 22), with shows into October. Check the venue's calendar; it fills in as the season goes.
- Landers CenterVenture Dr
The metro's second arena — touring comedy, concerts, and shows on the Mississippi side. On the 2026 books: "Weird Al" Yankovic (Sept 26) and the 23rd Memphis Tri-State Blues Festival (Oct 17).
- Tanger Outlets SouthavenAirways Blvd at I-55
The metro's outlet mall: 65+ stores across 325,000 square feet. Mon–Thu 10am–8pm, Fri–Sat 10am–9pm, Sun 11am–7pm.
- Central ParkTchulahoma Rd
Southaven's flagship park — an 18-hole disc golf course, walking trails around ponds and bridges, playgrounds, and open green space. Free, and quietly one of the best disc golf setups in the metro.
Play: parks, jumps & tee times
The burn-the-energy tier — most of it cheap or free.

One of the country's premier youth baseball complexes (it's why the amphitheater lives here) — plus city soccer, softball, and football complexes nearby. Tournament weekends make the whole district buzz.

The honest answers
Is Southaven part of Memphis?
It's part of the Memphis metro — the first city over the Mississippi state line in DeSoto County, about ten minutes from downtown Memphis down I-55. Different state, same weekend radius, which is why we cover it.
What is Southaven known for?
Youth baseball (the Snowden Grove complex is nationally known), outdoor concerts at the BankPlus Amphitheater, outlet shopping at Tanger, and — newest — Silo Square, the built-from-scratch town square district with restaurants, shops, and festivals.
What can you do in Southaven for free?
Central Park's disc golf course and trails, the green and bell tower at Silo Square (the strolling is free even if the barbecue isn't), Snowden Grove's park spaces outside tournament play, and the drive-through charm of the DeSoto County towns just south.
Does Southaven have a splash pad?
Not that the city's own parks pages confirm — several third-party sites claim one, but we couldn't verify it at an official source, so we won't list it. The verified splash pads nearest to Southaven are on the Tennessee side; our Memphis with kids guide has the full free list.
