Movie Night at The Crossing — Forrest Street Park, 12118 Forrest St., Arlington, 6–8 PM. The town is showing Hotel Transylvania outdoors at the park's amphitheater, so bring lawn chairs and a blanket. Details

📰 The Rundown

Lakeland's Thanksgiving food drive is collecting through Wednesday, Nov. 18. It needs the holiday basics: boxed stuffing, canned green beans and yams, cranberry sauce, instant mashed potatoes, cornbread mix. You can drop off at City Hall (10001 Hwy. 70), the Parks and Rec office on Lake District Drive, the Oakwood Clubhouse, or The Pet Hospitals on Canada Road. (via City of Lakeland)

Driving to the South End? South Main is closed between Crump and Carolina while the railroad bridge overhead gets safety repairs. The City's Oct. 7 notice says it stays closed until the bridge's owner finishes the fixes, and it doesn't give a reopening date. (via City of Memphis)

There's a new name in Primate Canyon. The Zoo's youngest lesser spot-nosed guenon is a boy named Rico, and he already has the species' heart-shaped spot on his nose. He spends his days with his brothers Pedro and Napoleon and his mom. (via Memphis Zoo)

🍽️ Food & Drink

Breadie's Café — 120 N. East Yates Rd., East Memphis, opens Friday, Oct. 16. A new bakery-café is opening on World Bread Day, with croissants and coffee in the morning and burgers and pizza later on. After that it's open 6 AM–6:30 PM Tuesday through Friday and 7:30 AM–2 PM on weekends. Details

🏡 Community Corner

Nick R. answered our one-week check-in with the best description of this format we've gotten: "Everything online is packed with visuals and ‘hooks’ and a bunch of unnecessary fluff. This is different and I like it." Noted, Nick. We'll keep it that way.

McKenzie C. registered for the jazz festival after reading about it here, then sent the link to friends with kids. That's why we do this.

Halloween is 18 days out, and our new guide to haunted houses around Memphis is up. If a house on your street goes all out with decorations, reply with where it is. We're still collecting for a roundup before the 31st.

The tip line never closes — a pop-up, a band, a fall-break find we missed. No gatekeeping — send it to hey@heymemphis.co.

That's it for today — see you tomorrow at 6.
