The Lab plays Promises, the Floating Points, Pharoah Sanders and London Symphony Orchestra album, start to finish on its speakers while a guide talks the room through a meditation. Pilates, then the year's last Sweat Cardio — the Sunset Canopy in Tom Lee Park, 422 Riverside Dr., 6 PM and 7:15 PM, free. Piece of Me: Poetry & Open Mic Night — PizzaMe!, 2857 Kirby Road, Unit 117, 7–9 PM, free. Poetry, comedy and R&B in a pizza shop, with a new featured artist every week. Details

30 Days of Opera at Levi — Levi Library lawn, 3676 S. Third St., 3–4 PM, free. Opera Memphis's month-long pop-up tour stops outside the South Memphis branch, billed for every age from toddlers up. Details

Mini Makers — Germantown Community Library, 5–6 PM, free, ages 2 to 5. A messy art hour of squishing, shaping and painting around a seasonal theme. Registration is required, and six seats were still open Sunday. Details

STEM Club — South Library, 4–5 PM, free, ages 8 to 12. An after-school build-and-test science hour with a new topic every month. Details

The Brooks closed its Overton Park doors yesterday after more than a century in the park. The collection is headed to the bluff downtown, where it reopens in December as the Memphis Art Museum, in a new building designed by Herzog & de Meuron. What becomes of the old building hasn't been decided. (via Memphis Flyer)

The Redbirds' season is over. Rochester took the deciding Game 3 of the International League Championship Series 3–2 on Thursday, which ends a September of playoff baseball at AutoZone Park. (via Action News 5)

The Grizzlies opened their second Dream Court on Friday at Northeast Prep Academy: a court built from scratch, with new hoops and benches and hand-painted art by Memphis artist Siphne Sylve. The first one went to the Bernal E. Smith Boys & Girls Club last year. (via Action News 5)
