Memphis Magic Night — Flyway Brewing, 598 Monroe Ave., Friday, Oct. 9, doors 6:30, show 7:30, $20 in advance, $25 at the door.

Tomorrow night a brewery on Monroe turns into a cabaret. Memphis magician and mentalist Joe M. Turner, who co-founded Atlanta Magic Night before starting this one here last year, hosts his monthly evening of magic, mindreading and stand-up, with comedian Betsy Severin Miller as October's guest. It opens with close-up magic as you walk in, then moves to a seated show where somebody in the crowd ends up as a co-star. It might be you. The show is clean, but it's built for grown-ups, 16 and up. The room is small and it has sold out before, so get your tickets ahead. Get tickets*
