Marjean Liggett takes the advanced folks at 7 and starts beginner instruction at 7:15, out in the Formal Gardens during the only stretch of today that isn't actively hostile. Details

Sun Printing with the Dixon — Orange Mound Library, 843 Dallas St., 2–3 PM, free. The Dixon sends its Art to Grow crew over with light-sensitive paper so kids can make darkroom-style prints using nothing but sunshine, which today is in generous supply. 5th Season: Black Farmers' Market — Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, 491 E. McLemore Ave., 3–7 PM, free. Black growers, bakers and makers set up on the church lawn every Tuesday afternoon, a few blocks up McLemore from Stax. Bring a bag and cash. Details

The Memphis Classic — Leftwich Tennis Center, 4145 Southern Ave., night session 6 PM, from about $41. Pro tennis is in town all week on the rebuilt Leftwich courts, and one ticket covers the outer courts as well as Stadium Court. Gates open an hour early. There's an 11 AM day session too, from about $36, but the 6 o'clock is the one we'd pick today. Details

Sip N Stitch — Wiseacre HQ Taproom, 398 S. B.B. King Blvd., 7–9 PM, free. Bring whatever half-finished craft has been guilting you from the closet and work on it in air conditioning, with a beer, next to strangers whose project piles look just like yours. Details

Harry Potter Trivia — Nashoba, Collierville, 7–8:45 PM, free. A one-off Potter round out in Collierville — and the same night, the same company runs a competing Potter night at Max's Sports Bar in Memphis. Choose your house accordingly. Details

10 Years with Line So Thin — 1884 Lounge at Minglewood Hall, 1555 Madison Ave., doors 7 PM, show 8 PM, about $34 with fees included, all ages. A touring rock bill on a Tuesday is a rare booking. Two things worth knowing before you go: it's the 1884 Lounge side of the building rather than the main hall, and Minglewood is cashless. Details

📰 The Rundown

Rodney Baber Park is open again in Frayser after a nearly five-year rebuild. The park roughly doubled to about 167 acres, and crews raised the ground about ten feet to stop the flooding that used to swamp it. New soccer fields, a softball field, a pavilion, a playground, a fishing lake and walking trails all came with it. (via Action News 5)

This is the Metal Museum's last week on the bluff. Its final exhibition there, What We Surround Ourselves With, closes Friday, and the museum shuts the riverbluff campus Saturday before moving to Rust Hall in Overton Park. If you've never seen the place perched out over the Mississippi, this is the week to fix that. (via the Metal Museum)

Two road notes if you're out late. Crews are striping Germantown Parkway between I-40 and US 64 overnight, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., through Thursday. And the Summer Avenue widening between I-40 and Sycamore View has traffic down to as little as one lane, with Lamar dropped to 45 through its own work zone. (via TDOT)

Gussied Up — Cole Jeanes, Harrison Downing and Schuyler O'Brien are opening a late-night bar in the back of Hard Times Deli at 655 Marshall, the two businesses sharing one kitchen on opposite clocks. The menu is fast food gussied up: an Arby's riff called the Ourby's, a Filet O' Phish, smashburgers on Home Place Pastures beef — served under Pizza Hut-style chandeliers with bar tops cut from old bowling lanes. Hattiloo turns 20 with a block party — Saturday, August 1, 2–6 PM, free. Music, food, performances and giveaways to open season 20 at the only freestanding Black repertory theatre in the Southeast. Details

Tomb Talks at Elmwood — Friday, July 31, 6–7:30 PM, from about $22 in advance and $30 at the door. Victorian cemetery symbolism and the 1878 yellow fever epidemic, with a short guided walk and a glass of wine. Details

Incognito bidding closes Friday — we flagged this one when bidding opened. Now it's down to the wire: online bids on the unsigned artwork close at 7:30 Friday night, with the auction party running 6–8 at Memphis Botanic Garden. Still no names on anything until after it sells. Details

The back-to-school bashes are stacking up. We went looking and found four free ones inside the next five days: Sunset Skate's back-to-school edition on the riverfront Thursday, which sends kids home with school supplies and books; North Library's Joy Jam and ice cream social that same afternoon; Bartlett's Family Fun Day Saturday morning with food trucks and inflatables; and a build-your-own-solar-oven s'mores bash at the Redd branch Saturday.
