  The sure bet: open year-round — 45 sites with water and 30/50-amp hookups and a bathhouse, 20 minutes from downtown, next to the Chucalissa mounds. One of the first US state parks open to Black visitors; camping without leaving the city.

  The only state park inside the city limits — tent and RV sites with water and 30/50-amp (some fit 85-foot rigs), a bathhouse with coin laundry, minutes from Graceland. One 2026 access note from the park: the I-55 exit 7 ramp is closed — use exits 8 or 9.
