Redbirds vs. Rochester, International League Championship Game 1 — AutoZone Park, 6:45 PM, from $9.01. Hattiloo's 20th-birthday show: the first act walks through the landmark moments in Black theatre, the second turns to work being made right now, some of it by artists with deep Memphis roots. Library staff read two stories and bring out three animal friends (if it's too hot for the animals, look inside the Rondoval near the hippos). The storytime is free with Zoo entry, and Tuesday entry is free for Tennessee residents who reserve ahead. Reservations are limited and open the Wednesday before, so check before you go. Bertha Rogers Looney, 85, is the last living member of the Memphis State Eight, the eight Black students who integrated Memphis State on Sept. 18, 1959. She has put their story down in a new memoir, We Dared to Be First, and signed copies on campus Friday, 67 years to the day after they enrolled. (via WREG)
