Election Day in Memphis: where to vote, a free choir night, and a rainy-evening plan
Hey Memphis 👋 It's Tuesday, and it's Election Day. Cloudy, windy and warm, up to 77, and it stays dry until mid-afternoon. Storms roll in around 3 or 4, peak this evening and could drop 1 to 2 inches tonight. Vote before the afternoon if you can, and keep tonight's plans indoors. Everything below has a roof.

📰 The Rundown
Polls are open 7 AM to 7 PM today, and you vote at your own assigned precinct, not an early-voting site. The Election Commission's lookup has your polling place and your districts. Bring a photo ID: a Tennessee driver license or U.S. passport works even if it's expired, but college IDs and out-of-state licenses don't. (via Shelby County Election Commission)
What's on the ballot: everyone in Shelby County votes for Governor and U.S. Senate. Depending on your address, you'll also see U.S. House, state Senate and state House races, plus three state constitutional amendments. Memphis voters get three City Charter questions, and Bartlett, Collierville, Germantown, Lakeland and Millington have city races. The official sample ballot shows the whole thing. (via Shelby County Election Commission)
Driving downtown? Union Avenue is down to fewer lanes near 480 Union while MLGW fixes a water leak. The center turn lane and the left lanes both ways closed Oct. 29, and the repair is expected to take about a week. (via MLGW)
